Mothers & More is improving the lives of mothers through support, education and advocacy. We welcome mothers at all ages and stages; whether they work for pay, stay at home or anything in between. Attend one of our monthly meetings, connect with mothers, make friends, join a playgroup and most of all, have fun!
Mother's Day 2010: Power of a Purse
In the US, having a child is the single greatest predictor that a woman will end up in financial collapse. Mothers are five times more likely to end up in bankruptcy or poverty... and here in the Capital Region, thousands of women are currently living in poverty and abuse.
In 2009, our local chapter started "Power of a Purse" to raise awareness of the economic risks that mothers face. This year, we are joined by mothers in nearly 50 cities across the nation who believe that they can put hope in a handbag.
